Some info about myself & my fur babies

We have 3 amazing Chow Chow boys. We are from South Africa, Gus, Fudge and Ninja. I hope you enjoy our video journey, as we enjoy our amazing companions, that gives us unconditional love every day. Fudge and Ninja we got as babies, but Gus was the addition to the Family, from a shelter, Gus was on the streets, and I drove 1400KM to fetch him from a shelter at the age of 6 years. Gus is my second black dog I adopted ( Julius was my First black dog, I adopted, a black poodle), one of my passions is to adopt a black dog that is in their golden years, that comes from a shelter and the streets, to provide them with a comfortable home full of Love & Care.

Get to know the Breed

The Chow Chow is a spitz-type of dog breed originally from northern China. The Chow Chow is a sturdily built dog, square in profile, with a broad skull and small, triangular, erect ears with rounded tips. The breed is known for a very dense double coat that is either smooth or rough.
Height: Male: 48–56 cm, Female: 46–51 cm
Weight: Male: 25–32 kg, Female: 20–27 kg
Life span: 9 – 15 years
Hypoallergenic: No
Origin: Northern China

Do Chow Chows Bark a Lot? Chows aren’t considered to be big barkers, but the chow chow temperament is highly protective, territorial, and likely to bark at strangers. Early and regular socialization with new people and other animals can help build your chows personality. Basically it comes down to how much time and training you put into your dog, as with any other breed.

The Chow Chow is definitely not a beginner’s breed, and you should seriously evaluate your lifestyle before acquiring one.

My beloved Gus and Fudge,

Saying goodbye to you both in the same year has been one of the hardest things my heart has ever had to face. 2025 took you from my arms, but it can never take you from my soul.

You were more than dogs to me — you were my soulmates, my soul dogs, my constant companions through joy, sadness, healing, and love.

Each of you came into my life when I needed you most, and together you carried my heart through moments when I didn’t think I could carry it myself.

It breaks my heart that you both had to leave, and that my days are quieter now without your footsteps, your shadows, and your gentle presence beside me. I miss you more than words can ever fully express.

But I find comfort in knowing you are safe, at peace, and together in heaven — running free, whole, and happy. I know you look down on me, still watching over me, still walking beside me in spirit, still loving me the way only you could.

Thank you for every moment, every walk, every ball thrown, every kiss, every comfort, and every lesson in unconditional love.

Thank you for choosing me.
I love you endlessly.
I miss you immensely.

And until we meet again, you live on in my heart — forever.
Always forever
